1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on a device when a website is visited. Similar technologies can include local storage, pixels and software development kits. They may remember preferences, keep a service secure, measure performance or support other functions.
2. The current website
CiviPet uses Google Analytics 4 only after a visitor accepts analytics. It helps us understand page visits, general device and location information, and how visitors arrived at the website. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising or personalisation on this website.
The Pioneer Breeder application uses Cloudflare Turnstile to distinguish legitimate visitors from automated submissions. Turnstile may use cookies or similar storage and processes limited technical information needed for this security purpose. It does not receive the answers entered into the application form.
Technical infrastructure may also process limited connection information needed to deliver and protect the website.
3. Cookie categories
| Category | Purpose | Choice |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Security, network delivery, sign-in, fraud prevention, Cloudflare Turnstile and core service functions. | These cannot usually be switched off through a consent tool because the requested service cannot work without them. |
| Preferences | Remember settings, including the analytics choice, that improve the user experience. | The preference record is used to respect the visitor’s selection. |
| Analytics | Understand website visits, pages viewed and traffic sources so we can improve CiviPet. | Google Analytics loads only after the visitor accepts analytics. |
| Advertising | Measure or personalise advertising. | CiviPet does not currently use advertising cookies. |
4. Google Analytics details
Google Analytics 4 is provided by Google. When accepted, it may set cookies including _ga and a property-specific _ga_… cookie. These distinguish visits and preserve session information and may remain for up to two years, subject to browser controls and Google’s settings. Google Analytics may receive information such as pages visited, approximate location, device and browser information, referral source and interaction events.
Advertising storage, advertising personalisation and Google Signals are disabled in CiviPet’s implementation. Google may process analytics information outside the United Kingdom using its applicable safeguards.
5. Your choices
You can accept or reject optional analytics when the preference banner appears. You can change your choice at any time using Cookie settings in the website footer. Rejecting analytics does not affect access to the website. Browser controls can also remove or block cookies, although blocking strictly necessary storage may prevent parts of a service from working.
6. Changes to this notice
